Introduce
LNG unloading booster (pry) is a device used for boosting pressure during LNG tank truck unloading. It mainly consists of an air heated gasifier, pipelines, valves, instruments, and control systems. It adopts a pry mounted structure, integrating various components on a single pry body, and has the characteristics of compact structure, small footprint, and easy installation and transportation. Its function is to gasify the LNG in the tanker and return it to the tanker, increasing the pressure of the tanker and creating a pressure difference between it and the LNG storage tank, thereby smoothly unloading the LNG in the tanker into the storage tank.
Working principle
The booster in LNG unloading booster (pry) is usually an air-cooled gasifier, mainly made of 6063 aluminum material with good thermal conductivity pressed into a star shaped tube. Using atmospheric temperature as a heat source, the fins absorb heat from the air and exchange it with the flowing LNG, causing the LNG liquid gas to vaporize and evaporate into gaseous natural gas. Gaseous natural gas returns to the tanker and boosts the pressure of the LNG tanker. When the pressure of the tanker reaches a certain level and forms a pressure difference with the storage tank, the LNG in the tanker is unloaded into the storage tank under pressure.
Design
● Structural design: The modular structure design facilitates overall transportation, installation, and on-site debugging. The layout of each component is reasonable, considering the convenience of operation, maintenance, and overhaul, while ensuring the strength and stability of the pry block, which can adapt to different installation environments.
● Material selection and design: Components such as pipelines and valves that come into contact with LNG are made of low-temperature resistant materials such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy to prevent brittle cracking and other phenomena in low-temperature environments. The star shaped finned heat transfer tube of the air-cooled gasifier is made of 6063 high-quality coated aluminum alloy, which is sturdy, durable, corrosion-resistant, weather resistant, and has good vaporization effect.
● Control system design: equipped with a complete control system, including pressure sensors, temperature sensors, etc., to monitor the pressure, temperature and other parameters of the tanker and booster in real time. Automatically control the opening and closing of relevant valves based on the set values to achieve an automated pressurization process, ensuring that the tank truck pressure remains stable within an appropriate range and guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of the unloading process.
Parameter
● Design temperature: generally -196 ℃, to adapt to the low-temperature characteristics of LNG.
● Design pressure: usually 2.5MPa, meeting the pressure requirements for tank truck pressurization and unloading.
● Work pressure: Generally around 1.6MPa, the actual working pressure depends on the specific unloading process and the pressure conditions of the tanker and storage tank.
● Import temperature: -162 ℃, which is the temperature at which LNG enters the booster.
● Export temperature: ≥ ambient temperature -10 ℃, ensuring that the temperature of the natural gas after gasification is not too low and avoiding any impact on subsequent pipelines and equipment.
● Gasification capacity: Common specifications include 300Nm ³/h, which can be selected based on the scale of the LNG gasification station and unloading requirements.
● Medium: mainly LNG, also applicable to low-temperature liquids such as LPG, LO ₂, LN ₂, LAr, etc.
