    The industrial gas air temperature vaporizer is mainly composed of the vaporizer body, connecting pipes, valves, and brackets. Its main body is usually a finned tube made of aluminum alloy, which has good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. This vaporizer does not require external energy heating and relies on natural convection heat exchange between air and low-temperature liquid gas to achieve vaporization. It has the advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, and low operating costs, and is widely used in the vaporization process of various industrial gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, etc.

    Working principle

    The working principle of an air-cooled vaporizer is based on heat exchange. Liquid industrial gas flows inside the finned tube, and due to its temperature being much lower than the surrounding air temperature, natural convection heat transfer occurs between the air and the outer surface of the finned tube. The heat of the air is transferred to the liquid gas inside the finned tube, causing the liquid gas to absorb heat and gradually increase in temperature until it vaporizes into a gaseous state. As the liquid gas vaporizes, its volume rapidly expands and flows out of the vaporizer's outlet in gaseous form, entering subsequent gas delivery pipelines or equipment.

    Design

    ● Structural design: A vertical structure is usually used, consisting of multiple sets of finned tubes connected in parallel to form a bundle, in order to increase the heat transfer area and gas flow rate. Connect the liquid inlet header and gas outlet header at both ends of the tube bundle to ensure that the liquid gas is evenly distributed into each finned tube and that the vaporized gas can be smoothly collected and discharged. To enhance heat transfer efficiency, fins on finned tubes are usually shaped and arranged in special ways, such as serrated or corrugated fins, to increase the contact area between air and the tube bundle and improve heat transfer efficiency.

    ● Material selection: Finned tubes are generally made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel materials. Aluminum alloy has the advantages of light weight, good thermal conductivity, and strong corrosion resistance, and is suitable for most industrial gases; Stainless steel has higher strength and corrosion resistance, and can be used in situations where material requirements are more stringent, such as handling corrosive gases or using it in harsh environments. The connecting pipes and valves are usually made of materials that match the finned tubes to ensure the sealing and corrosion resistance of the system.

    Parameter

    ● Vaporization rate: refers to the amount of liquid industrial gas that can be converted into gas by a vaporizer per unit time. Common units include kg/h, m ³/h, etc. The vaporization capacity of different specifications of air-cooled vaporizers varies greatly, ranging from tens of m ³/h to thousands of m ³/h. Users can choose the appropriate model according to their actual gas needs.

    ● Working pressure: generally between 0.1-20MPa, the specific working pressure depends on the type of industrial gas being processed, the pressure of the gas source, and the pressure requirements of the subsequent equipment used. When designing and selecting, it is necessary to determine the appropriate working pressure range based on actual working conditions to ensure the safe and stable operation of the vaporizer.

    ● Import and export temperature

    ▷ Import temperature: The temperature at which liquid industrial gas enters the vaporizer depends on the type of liquid gas and storage conditions. For example, the inlet temperature of liquid oxygen is usually around -183 ℃, while the inlet temperature of liquid nitrogen is around -196 ℃.
    ▷ Export temperature: The temperature at which gaseous industrial gas leaves the vaporizer. Generally, it is required that the outlet temperature be higher than the ambient temperature by a certain value to prevent the gas from liquefying again in the pipeline. Normally, the outlet temperature is about 5-10 ℃ higher than the ambient temperature, but in some special process requirements, the outlet temperature can also be controlled within a more precise range by adjusting the structure or operating parameters of the vaporizer.

    ● Heat exchange area: It is an important indicator for measuring the heat transfer capacity of an air-cooled vaporizer, measured in square meters. The size of the heat exchange area directly affects the vaporization efficiency and processing capacity of the vaporizer. Generally speaking, the larger the vaporization amount, the larger the required heat exchange area. When designing, it is necessary to calculate and determine the appropriate heat transfer area based on specific factors such as vaporization amount, gas properties, and environmental conditions to ensure that the vaporizer can meet process requirements.

    ● Pressure drop: refers to the pressure loss generated during the flow of liquid industrial gas in a vaporizer. The pressure drop of an air-cooled vaporizer is generally required to be controlled within a small range, usually not exceeding 0.1-0.2 MPa, to ensure the pressure stability of the outlet gas and the normal operation of subsequent equipment. The magnitude of pressure drop is related to factors such as the structure of the vaporizer, pipeline diameter, gas flow rate, etc. It is necessary to optimize these parameters reasonably in the design and operation process to reduce pressure drop.
